This is one of my recent paintings of our hometown Parish, Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church of Garden City, New York.  16″ X 20″ Canvas Board, matted in a 21″x 25″ Frame.  I included a work in progress video below. To see more like this, visit the “House Portraits” tab on this site.

DIY Gift Wrapping

I wrapped my “Secret Santa” present for cousin Arthur with brown paper, photographs on the sides & top, paper flowers, pencil eraser stamps, ribbon & battery operated Christmas lights (from The Home Depot). For more ideas on gift wrapping visit my “Everything DIY” tab on this site, where you can find my previous Holiday Segment on NY1 News.

Try DIY with a RYOBI!

Who doesn’t love when their 2nd grader gets assigned a diorama right in the middle of the holiday rush? Here are some pictures of the making of Michael’s urban community. A special thanks goes out to Martha Stewart @marthastewart for gifting us with this Cordless Ryobi drill @ryobitoolsusa at her #buildcheerwithmartha Facebook event. We used it to make the holes in the floor of the encasement for the stop signs & flag pole. It’s so easy to use and comes in this convenient case. You can find one of these handy gadgets at your local Home Depot or online. It is great for many craft & house projects. I might not have let the 7 year old use the drill, but he sure did have a blast painting the entire city scene using “Craft smart”, “Americana” & “Folk Art” Acrylic paint. He painted empty food boxes to create the building shapes. We also placed a battery operated light inside the ceiling to magnify the skyline. At least that’s one check off of our to-do list!
